Salary: MPS - UPS - £32,916 - £51,048 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked) + TLR2C allowance available for the right candidate

Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 1.0 FTE, 39 weeks per year.

The Park Community School are seeking a full time Maths Teacher who can teach KS3 & KS4 to join the team in September 2026.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching and have a passion for the subject.

We are interested to hear from professionals that have the ability to make an impact in the classroom and beyond, a track record of high-quality outcomes in the classroom and for someone who has a commitment to students of all abilities in our comprehensive secondary school.

We are open to considering experienced teachers, Early Careers Teachers, or non-qualified teachers with relevant teaching experience. We would also be excited to hear from colleagues who are able to support the development of teaching, learning, and curriculum across the maths team. Key Tasks
To teach high quality Maths lessons across the age and ability range in accordance with the requirements of a professionally qualified teacher. You will be able to teach across different topics at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.

Anticipated Outcomes of Post:
Students, regardless of their social or cultural background, are motivated to succeed and make outstanding progress through creative, relevant and innovative teaching and learning.

Key Duties and Accountabilities: 

  • Teach Maths across the age and ability range in such a way as to challenge and inspire all students, with clear objectives, delivered in line with department schemes of work and school policies.
  • Plan and deliver lessons to students according to their educational needs and with reference to prior attainment, SEN and EAL as required, striving to ensure equal opportunities for all and to provide students with the opportunity to achieve their potential.
  • Set high expectations for students and develop their attitude for learning through focus teaching and through the development of positive and productive relationships.
  • Manage, develop, and share resources to enhance teaching of Maths.

Additional TLR Holder Accountabilities:

  • Take a full and active role in the leadership of the maths department to secure the best possible outcomes of students at Park School.
  • Support the development of the quality of teaching and learning through coaching, review, and quality assurance. 
  • Support the development of a high-quality maths curriculum.

Pastoral Responsibilities
The pastoral role is of prime importance in supporting the ethos of the school as a place where students can be happy and confident and feel encouraged to work hard.
Form Tutor

  • Promote the general well-being and progress of students in the tutor group.
  • Provide guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and to respond to their individual needs quickly and in a constructive manner.
  • Support and participate in year group activities.
  • Attend Year Team and House meetings.
  • Deliver the PSHEE curriculum in line with the school timetable.

General

  • Attend all departmental and staff meetings.
  • Play an active part in the life of the school, sharing the aims and objectives of the school.
  • Contribute to the protection of children as appropriate, in accordance with any agreed policies and/or guidelines, reporting any issues or concerns to the School’s Child Protection Lead.
  • Play an active role in your own CPD and share development ideas with others.
  • Uphold the teacher standards and make a positive contribution to the life of the school.
